Sophisticated restaurants, beautiful sandy beaches, nightlife till sunrise, all mixed with cozy "pousada" guesthouses and luxuriant tropical landscape… Armaçao de Búzios is one of those beautiful Brazilian beach towns where samba and good mood blend perfectly with sun and crystal waters, opening the doors to a memorable trip.
The city occupies a peninsula, spanning through hills, beaches, coves, tropical vegetation and charming roads. Of course, there are also plenty hotels and resorts on the beach in Búzios. Follow the central Rua das Pedras cobblestone street and find a mix between colonial architecture, bustling life, and beautiful sea views. Hotels, B&B’s and guesthouses in central Búzios are a good option to enjoy the nightlife.
The town became popular in the 60’s, when Brigitte Bardot fell in love with it. A statue of her can be found in the central promenade. The beaches of Ferradura and João Fernandes are popular for their bars and seafood eateries. Armação, and Geribá are well-known surfing spots, while Manguinhos is a windsurfing beach.

We loved Búzios!
We loved Búzios! It was very picturesque with beautiful views and beaches. Many many restaurants and bars, live music, art, shopping, etc. The city had well maintained buildings and roads. We ate dinner in a central seafood restaurant called Valencia something, super tasty fish, shrimp, mussels, and squid. We had breakfast in a Doce Mel Buzios (padaria) with good coffee, juice, and warm sandwishes. We were only sadded by the fact that we only booked 1 night in Búzios!AAnonymous - 8.0Scored 8.0

Lovely place,lots of restaurants and exciting for young people. Safe to walk on the streets and didn't see any beggars as in Rio. Our family of 8 loved it so much that we left Pousada Corsario where we had a bad exerience and stayed another 4 days at the Atlantico Buzios, where we enjoyed our stay. Selling staff at the shops are friendly and laid back, no pressure. Quality shopping as there are some shooping areas that remind us of Leblon ! It was definitely worth the 3.5 hours transfers, we recommend it.

This is a beautiful place, but it seems more suited to residents than to visitors. I couldn't escape the sensation of being an intruder on wealthy people's private beaches. The Orla Bardot is the one exception: it is beautiful and accessible. Pick your beach and stay at a pousada or hotel nearby. Getting around the peninsula is very difficult, whether by car (roads are narrow, windy and mostly cobbled, and parking is difficult) or on foot (the beaches are far apart, access is confusing and there are few footpaths).
