Thing to remember is this is a resort with a european feel, not just a hotel to lay your head down for the night. If you are looking for a just a clean bed and continental breakfast this may not be your cup of tea. The facility is big, yet has a coziness to it. We loved the multiple small gathering rooms and nooks spread about the building with shelves filed with books, board games and puzzles. The property is huge, plenty of places to wander but also lots of hosted happenings. Loved the beer hall...they do a maple themed beer every year and it is very good. Staff is exceptional. they all seem to love working there. Highly recommend as a get away place.

Excellent decor, friendly staff, and incredible common area above pool. Walkability to the best of Stowe's town restaurants was a huge bonus, even more so in the warmer months.

Great common areas like the lobby, pool, hot tub, sauna. It’s nice the rooms open directly to the patio.
The basement lounge/bar is cool too.

I am not very good with follow-up reviews but I would never fail to say that we thought this place was a big cut above. The personal attention and warmth of the staff was very apparent and the room was very pleasant. There were so many touches that showed they really care about their resort and their guests. The bed was divine. And the gas fireplace was a treat, Thank you!!!
Stowe.... a skiers paradise. Cute downtown area, awsome skiing. Nice apres ski options. My wife and I attempt to visit every winter. The town offers a good variety of eateries, resturants stores etc. One tip though... try to book a hotel that offers breakfast. I honestly could not offer a recommendation on a sit down resterant for breakfast. Just my opinion.

Very small town. Grocery store is small and pricey.
Very small town. Grocery store is small and pricey. Shops are very pricey but lots of homemade items and boutique type places. Food is really good at the restaurants. Everyone is really friendly. Will I be back probably not, but not because it was bad just very slow paced not for me. Definitely out of a hallmark movie though!

You have to try jalapeno cheddar pancakes with maple syrup...
You have to try jalapeno cheddar pancakes with maple syrup and hollandaise sauce at the Butler's Pantry. Alchemist brewery is a must stop and Von Trapp Brewery and lodge grounds deserve a visit. Great place in the winter, if you like winter sports. But with all the natural beauty, it is worth a visit any time a year. Fall foliage is awesome to see in this area.

We love Stowe.
We love Stowe. We have been here many times starting over 50 years ago on our honeymoon!! The character of the town is just wonderful. This year they had a Halloween parade with the children of the town all dressed up!! It was charming! We will definitely be back!!

Stowe is adorable.
Stowe is adorable. The reputation it has as a fall foliage destination is well deserved. The little downtown is adorable and very walkable, the traffic wasn't great but we were able to find parking relatively easily. If visiting from out of town, you're going to want a rental car since many of the attractions are spaced miles apart. There are a ton of great food-related things to try near by. We really enjoyed the sugar houses (we saw Bragg Farm and Goodrich's Maple Farm and recommend them both - about 40ish minutes out of town), Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Cabot cheese shop, and Ben and Jerry's factory. We stopped at but didn't stay at the Trapp Family Lodge, which was well worth seeing. We did try the Trapp Kaffeehaus (which also serves their beer) which was great. If you like hard cider we also recommend Stowe Cider.

A quaint town set in the most picturesque location.
A quaint town set in the most picturesque location. The shops were attractive and there were plenty of places to eat. The nearby Von Trapp Family Lodge is well worth a visit. There is lots to do in the summer and the winter but we had not realised that most attractions and roads to mountain peaks would be closed from mid October until the ski season starts so we were caught in the middle of this time and had less open for our visit.
Nice big room with a lovely view overlooking the pool and the fire pit. The hot tub and pool were lovely and warm, great for relaxing in after a day on the slopes. The hotel shop sold snacks, drinks and marshmallows for toasting. The Whip Resturant served delicious food and served lovely at the bar. Breakfast was also tasty and good value for money. The hotel had a great deal of history which is displayed along the corridors. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. Would definately stay here again.
The price was reasonable compared to inns or B&B in the Stowe, Barre, Burlington, Northfield ($900-$1000 per night) area but still quite expensive per night. $288 per night should be prime room accommodations, but I guess for this area, $288 is good. I understand Vermont goes out of its way to keep chain retail companies out to allow family businesses to thrive, but hotels might be one area to change this rule.
I liked the location, and I liked the spa area but I didn’t have a chance to try it. I liked that my room was close to the restaurant. I liked the receptionist who checked me in, very friendly and helpful! The room was clean. The stoweflake is within walking distance of multiple shops, restaurants and other things to, and is a 3 minute drive away from the Main Street part of town.
I liked that the property was newly renovated and the main lodge was roomy with lots of comfortable quality furnishings. The staff were very friendly and accommodated any requests without hesitation. The indoor pool and sauna were beautiful and the hot tub and outdoor pool as well. The location was close to restaurants, a movie theatre and a short walk to Stowe's downtown centre.
We have travelled through 5 states on a family holiday with teens, and this was our favourite hotel by far! Friendly, comfortable, airy and clean rooms, thoughtful details, complimentary continental breakfast, coffee and cookies, views of the river, amazing hot tub and pool. We loved everything and would love to go back one day!
The Inn was within walking distance of the village centre, and in the heart of all the attractions surrounding Stowe. The cleaning manager and staff were wonderful, the room was sparkling, and on request, a second chair was immediately brought to the room.
They were very welcoming and friendly. Its a great location just out of Stowe center and convenient to the mountain.
Don made us a delicious homemade Vermont breakfast every morning! We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Stowe.
The one and only good thing is the location of the hotel. It's right off the Stowe VT bikepath, close to the center of town and the British Invasion car show, which is why we were there. Unfortunately the room was HORRIBLE!
The bed was very clean and comfortable, the shower was hot, the location was perfect for all of our Stowe activities, and we loved that the hotel was dog friendly 🐶 another bonus was the hot tub right near our room
Lovely scandinavian design. The bathroom was amazing and the facilities in the hotel (common area, swimming pool, bar...) were cozy and charming. Nice cold brew, btw.
Our stay at Talta was great! The staff were nice and friendly, the room was updated and modern and the location was close to everything to do in Stowe!
